LEXAN, is a polycarbonate resin thermoplastic material that is known have an impact strength 30 times that of Acrylic, and 250 times greater than glass material. It deforms without breaking or cracking and because of this it is used in bulletproofing products, windows, and in settings where a high chemical resistance is required.  LEXAN Polycarbonate Sheet can be formed into a flexible product or layered where an application needs to be shatterproof. It can even be drilled without cracking. Most often it is used when security and protection are more of a priority than aesthetics.

LEXAN polycarbonate sheet is an optimal material as it is much lighter than glass, and certainly safer to use. It features a low moisture absorption, low friction, and certain grades are FDA and 3-A Dairy compliant for use in food processing. In addition to stocking LEXAN Polycarbonate Sheet in standard sizes, other sizes can be custom cut for you. We carry other brands as well such as Palram polycarbonate.

Lexan Polycarbonate Sheet comes in the follow standard sizes:  48″ x 96″, 60″ x 96″, 72″ x 96″, 48″ x 120″, and 60″ x  120″. You can select the quality of thickness from the range of 0.03″ – 0.5″. In addition to Lexan Polycarbonate Sheet, Polymershapes stocks comparable industrial plastics such as Acrylic, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and  Insulgard™ Security Products , as well as Bullet/Blast/Wind Resistant Security Glazing.
